The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), herein referred to as the Authority, was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the Laws of Kenya, which became effective on 1st July 1995.
The Authority is charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) was established in 1978. The Institute is a member of the Pan-African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the global umbrella body for the accountancy profession.
